Original British WW1 bayonet dated '9 17' under 1907 for the pattern. Made by J.A. Chapman, Sheffield. Taken into Australian service during WW1 and stamped on the crossguard with D/|\D & 2 (2nd Military District NSW). Also stamped with the /|\ inside the D (Dept of Defence). No refurbishment dates. Good used condition. Complete with Australian WW2 Mangrovite scabbard dated 1943. Excellent blade. These bayonets were for use on the No1 Mk3 SMLE .303 rifle.
