Original and scarce (not current reproduction) Australian issue US M1 steel helmet used by Australian troops (mainly Artillery and Mortar units and RAN) during the Vietnam War period. Complete with liner, suspension, neckband & sweatband with /|\ stamp. The liner has the Australian NSN (National Stock Number) stamped in white. The helmet heat stamp is R over GD which is unknown to us but we have had a few with this type of heat stamp on the Australia issue helmets so most likely be a contractor identification for an Australian contract. The helmet chinstraps have been cut off which seemed to happen frequently with Australian troops. The helmet in the photo is the helmet you receive. Scroll down for more photo description.
