Original as issued condition Australian WW2 steel helmet. Member's service number painted on the helmet under visor. Issued to Leading Aircraftman Dale Leonard Thredgold VIRGIN. It would appear that he had a nickname 'GOLDIE" which he painted onto the front of the helmet. Records show that he served in 21 Squadron located at Nadzab, New Guinea during WW2.
