Product Description

Original and scarce (not current reproduction) Australian issue M1 steel helmet used by Australian troops (mainly Artillery and Mortar units and RAN) during the Vietnam War period. Complete with liner, suspension, neckband & sweatband. The helmet has "G O" painted on the front most likely meaning for Gunnery Officer. The liner has the Australian NSN (National Stock Number) stamped in white and was manufactured by Protector Pty Ltd. The helmet shell was manufactured in Australia by Rheem Australia with heat and lift numbers stamp is R (Rheem) over GC indicating 1964 contract. One helmet chinstrap has been cut off which seemed to happen frequently with Australian troops. The helmet in the photo is the helmet you receive. Scroll down for more photo description.
