Original and scarce (not current reproduction) Australian issue US M1 steel helmet used by Australian troops (mainly Artillery and Mortar units and RAN) during the Vietnam War period. Soldier applied graffiti indicating from a Signals unit. The helmet heat stamp is R over GC which is unknown to us but we have had a few with this heatstamp on the Australia issue helmets so most likely to be a contractor identification for an Australian contract. Complete with liner, suspension, sweatband, neckband and chinstrap. The liner has the distinctive Australian NSN (National Stock Number) stamped in white.
